Uruguay Wins Prestigious Kaufman Award for Outstanding Performance Under Pandemics

Montevideo, March 25, 2023 - Uruguay has been awarded the prestigious Kaufman Award for Outstanding Performance Under Pandemics by the International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI), the International Society for Societal Performance (ISSP), and the Kaufman Center. This recognition highlights the country's exemplary response to the COVID-19 pandemic, which effectively balanced public health measures with economic stability.

The award ceremony will take place on March 28 at 12 pm in Montevideo, where Dr. Mariano Bernardez, Executive Director of the Kaufman Center and ISSP, and Lic. Mariana Sala, COO of the Kaufman Center and ISSP Rio de la Plata, will present the award to Secretary of Presidency Dr. Alvaro Delgado and National Director of Emergencies Colonel Major Sergio Rico.

Uruguay's successful pandemic response has been praised for its early and decisive action, strong healthcare system, effective communication, and public cooperation.
